HPR and GSpeed team up on a 468 cid LS Road Race build - Part II
Moving forward. In sticking with our target of building a reliable big displacement road race engine while using currently available shelf parts without going to crazy on our budget. We are sticking with a hydraulic roller camshaft and OE rocker arms and using current on the market head. A lot of thought and planning had to be done when it came to the camshaft design. Unlike a drag engine that sees only seconds at WOT, this engine is going to see up to 40 mins at a time on track. Louis at GSpeed, Mr. Godbold at Comp Cams, and ourselves...
HPR and GSpeed team up on a 468 cid LS Road Race build - Part I
-Build Thread- HPR and GSpeed have teamed up to showcase a number of new cool and exciting engine and power-train offerings for late model Corvette's, particularly for road racers. In this continuing build thread you will see maybe some things you haven't thought of before, but all are either currently available or so to be available products you can have for your own racer or street car. There has been a common urban myth surrounding the world of road racing, and that has been to have a higher reving engine you need a shorter stroke. You can find this from...
HPR LSx TT Build Thread Part VI: Supporting Hardware
#6 Supporting HardwareThis might be the last update for a few months as the engine has left our facility and is in the hands of the car builder to finish out the plumbing, install, turbo kit, fuel system and other pieces. The one thing at the start of this series I did not state was the fact that it will be a alcohol fueled engine so the HP rating of 2000+ is more along the lines of 3100-3600 hp, possibly more depending on final boost levels, and fuel mixture. Hopefully I will be able to share some pictures of the...
*NEW PRODUCT* Wiseco BoostLine rods
Today we un-box one of the very first sets of Wiseco Automotive's new BoostLine connecting rods for LS and LT engines. Some things to note on these: This all new design from Wiseco has been developed specifically for boosted engines and higher stresses, up to 2000HP!. Wiseco's new three pocket design allows for extra material were needed but does not drastically increase weight. Each rod is wrapped and protected and kept separate from the others so no damage can happen during shipping. Like most rod sets, they are all matched closely on weight, but in the case...
HPR 442 LS3
HPR 442 Another Koenig design, the 442 LS3 by HPR. Erik's custom forged rotating assembly give this stock LS3 engine block a full liter more of displacement without costly re-sleeving processes. The increased displacement will mean much more torque not found with the typical 402/414 builds that are commonly found. Finish it off with a custom top end package by HPR or fit your own components to suit your build requirements.
